XAT continued the pattern of differential marking this year. There were 85 questions in the paper worth 100 marks. Each question had 5 options. The penalty for incorrect answers was 25% of the marks allotted to the question.
One change this year was that the Analytical Reasoning and Decision Making Section was replaced by a section that was completely on Decision Making. There were no easy questions in this section and a test-taker needed to look for questions in which he/she was comfortable.
The English Language Ability and Logical Reasoning section and The Quantitative Ability section were relatively easier than last year. There were quite a few questions that were easy and should have been attempted from each of these sections.
